Blog, February 6th
After a day traipsing round the East London galleries in deluges of rain it was over to Knightsbridge to open the show at Gallery 53. It was a good evening with a varied crowd, from Artist contacts and the gallery's mailings.
After more wine than the recommended daily limit a few of us staggered across the road to the Pizza place to refuel and dissect the show. I must video these conversations….
The invite cards for the exhibition and carrying my image, WORK WORK 5, (shown in the last blog entry) can be collected from the gallery.
I created a new SPIKE for this exhibition. It's a bit of a departure from the SPIKEIT project, as its arrived at a sculptural piece. the work titled spike 1-1000,
carries 1000 pieces of A4 paper. All are number sequentially, and have been spiked
in order. One piece of paper has been spiked upside down- any guesses.
Its been a revelation to fill the spike with just 1000 sheets = two reams of paper.
Anyway it was great making this work, I also filmed it and am now working on the footage. This work has lead me to a whole range of new works, the next will be
spike 1000-2000 and a few more surprises will be revealed.
Do go and take a look, at the gallery…..

PS, I usually access this bog via safari- but an 'error' continues, so I'm now on Internet explorer and can't find how to add an image- why does it look so different?
